The working Committee on Psychology Standards and Services, established in 2012, prepares and promotes standards in the field of psychology. It conducts research on psychology standards and services, guiding and promoting standardization and normalization in psychology.
The committee, consisting of one chairman, five vice-chairmen, and 37 members, gathers experts and officials from universities, colleges, research institutes, education, health, government departments, and enterprises across various regions and systems.
With a work policy focused on “personnel standardization, technical standardization, service standardization,” the committee prioritizes “psychological services to the grassroots” and actively engages in research on technical standards and service norms in psychology. It aims to develop and publish relevant group standards, collaborate with the National Standards Commission, and participate in the formulation and publication of national and international standards, enhancing the overall level of psychological services.
In its initial efforts, the committee drafted the national standard GB/T30446 “Psychological Counseling Service,” specifically “Service Process” and “Counseling Information Management” to regulate the implementation and management of psychological counseling services. Recent research has focused on the revision and compilation of psychological scales for children and adolescents, addressing societal needs and laying the groundwork for future endeavors.
Looking ahead, the committee plans to persist in professional and service standardization in psychology. It will continue to formulate relevant group standards, collaborate with the National Standards Committee, and contribute to research, development, and implementation. The committee aims to advance the psychology services industry, accelerate standard development, and consistently elevate the level of standardization in the psychology field.
