The International Academic Exchange Committee was established in 1984. Its primary focus is to facilitate international academic exchanges for the CPS, aiming to strengthen communication between domestic and international academic communities. Currently, the committee consists of 29 members.

The committee routinely updates the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) with the Directory of Major Institutions for Psychological Research and Training of China and the Edition of the CD-ROM, Psychology: IUPsyS Global Resource of CPS. Additionally, the committee collaborates with the IUPsyS Secretariat to support scientists in international academic organizations, organizes regional international symposia on behalf of IUPsyS, and distributes notices of international academic conferences and related information. The committee also responds to inquiries from foreign psychologists, facilitates contact between foreign and Chinese psychologists, hosts visiting foreign psychologists, and arranges presentations and discussions.
